Days of Awe: Tashlich

For Tashlich, we gather on the banks of the Hudson River to cast off crumbs of bread symbolizing the stale narratives and old habits of mind that we want to be free of in the coming year.

We'll be meeting at Long Dock Park in Beacon. Feel free to bring some stale bread to cast off and some food to share. Please bring a blanket and picnic dinner so we can linger and spend some time together at the river.

This is an opportunity to reflect on the lives we are living and the aspirations we are both pursuing and forgetting. It’s a time for thinking about who we really are, and accounting for whether we are living in right relationship with ourselves, our family, our friends, and the Holy One of Blessing.

At Beacon Hebrew Alliance, there are no tickets for entry and everyone is welcome to come for this period of introspection and prayer. However, we ask that everyone please register.

While there is no fee for participating in the holidays at BHA, we hope that you will choose to contribute to BHA so we can continue to be a home for vibrant Jewish life in the Hudson Valley.
