Voice Lesson with Kelly Ellenwood: An Open to the Sky Event

Professional singer and Professor of Voice of SUNY New Paltz, Kelly Ellenwood will lead participants in a group voice lesson. Techniques for both the singer and for people who use their voices in their work - teachers, coaches, etc. She will share tips for vocal health, easy warm ups, connecting to the breath, and learning to let go and sing with joy and your full body. The session will end with everyone singing, together. 45 minutes.

Open to the Sky is a reimagining of the ancient Jewish holiday of Sukkot. A sukkah (pronounced sue-kah) is a  sand mandala of a building, open to the sky and used for seven days around the time of the fall harvest and then dismantled. It's rickety and tenuous, creating the illusion of permanence and highlighting the impermanence of everything. For more information about the holiday and Open to the Sky, please click here

All of the programs of Open to the Sky are offered without charge; however, there are (of course) costs associated with the construction and maintenance of this project. If you can help support Open to the Sky with a donation of any size, please click here.
